Raw mango pattu is unfiltered South Indian silk woven without the high-sheen finishing that gives a Kanjivaram its mirror gloss. The result is a matte, faintly textured surface with real body — it holds a pleat, falls in heavier folds, and photographs without the hotspots that catch out glossier silks under indoor lighting. Colours tend toward the earthy and the natural-dye end of the range, so it suits daytime muhurthams, temple functions and traditional ceremonies where a bridal-weight Kanjivaram would be too much. It is the choice for a buyer who wants unmistakably real handloom silk over something showy. Each piece is handwoven and inspected before dispatch, with flat-rate shipping to all 50 US states and concierge confirmation on availability and delivery timing.
We carry a wide range: Kanjivaram silk, Banarasi silk, Tussar, organza, tissue, chanderi, linen, chiffon, georgette, Patola, Paithani, Pochampally Ikat, Bandhani, cotton, and designer sarees. We keep adding new trending styles regularly.
For the main ceremony, Kanjivaram or Banarasi silk in red, maroon, or gold is a safe bet. For lighter events like sangeet, try organza or georgette. Not sure? Message us on WhatsApp and we'll help you choose based on the occasion.
Kanjivaram sarees come from Tamil Nadu. They're heavier silk with bold colors and temple-style borders. Banarasi sarees are from Varanasi with softer drape and Mughal-inspired brocade patterns. Both are great for special occasions, just different styles.
Yes. We're based in California and ship across the entire US with flat rate shipping. Everything gets carefully packaged so your saree arrives in great condition.
Wrap them in muslin or cotton cloth, not plastic, since that traps moisture. Keep them in a cool, dry spot away from sunlight. Try to refold along different lines every few months so you don't get permanent creases.
Many of them are, sourced from weavers in Kanchipuram, Varanasi, and other traditional weaving regions. We also carry machine-woven and semi-handloom options. Each product page has the details on weave type.
